Matt Jordan - Futurband
Matt
Jordan Futurband recorded and performed pop music, many songs by
Wells Kelly, former drummer and background singer in
"Orleans." Wells also played drums and was a vocalist in Futurband.
The arrangements were written by Horace Ott, who arranged all of the
Village People hits. Ron St. Germaine, one of the Jimmy Hendrix
engineers, performed Futurband engineering at Electric Lady in New
York City. Both Horace Ott and Ron St. Germaine shared work together
with Matt Jordan as producers. Other Futurband recordings were done
at Sigma Sound in New York City.
Four songs were completed before the death of Wells Kelly. Wells was
substituting on drums with Meatloaf in London at the time of his
tragic death, which caused Matt to delay the Futurband project. Wells
was found asphyxiated the morning after going out drinking with his
old friend Huey Lewis, who happened to be in London at the time.
The songs completed by Wells Kelly and his brother Sherman Kelly,
were: "Givin It Up," "Why," "The Grass is
Always Greener," and "Sometimes Love," which is the
theme song and the movie planned about the life of Wells Kelly.
"Sometimes Love," is a beautiful ballad that aired on the
radio and made Billboard.
One of Matt's goals is to complete the Futurband album and the movie
of his life, both in memory of Wells Kelly.
